Alshamel International is an IATA-approved shareholding company, originally established in the State of Kuwait in 1996 as a small, six staff travel agency. Today we have branches across seven Gulf and Levant nations and an impressive client roster served by more than 400 employees. We are the only travel management company with fully owned offices across the Middle East region and proud to be able to offer a truly integrated, ‘One Company Across The Region’ approach to our clients.
Regional Growth
Following the launch of Alshamel in Kuwait in 1996 we opened our first office in Dubai, UAE in 2002. Expansion moved to Qatar and Bahrain in 2004 followed by Jordan in 2005 and Abu Dhabi in 2006. Our newest branches were opened in Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar) in 2009 and Muscat, Oman in 2010.
Listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange (since 24th March 2008), Alshamel International Holding Company has capital in excess of KD 6 million (US$20 million) with combined annual sales of more than US$ 450 million (2009). We are the largest travel services provider in Kuwait, in addition to being the largest travel contractor to the U.S. military through our CWT-SatoTravel affiliation. Across the region our business volume accounts for 5% of the total travel market.
While we enjoy the expertise, support and cooperation of our international partners, we focus on the GCC and the Middle East. Functioning as one entity, through our network of branch offices, we excel at servicing clients and representations on a truly regional level with exceptional results derived from extensive local knowledge, highly experienced senior agents, dedicated Program Managers and access to cutting edge technology. We continue to pursue a methodical, organic growth strategy through Affiliation, Network Expansion, Diversification and Optimization and expect to be the second largest TMC in the Middle East by the end of 2012.
